
The original house was built in the 1930's. Local folks know of the lodge as "the old stone house". About ten years ago additions were made to provide four guest bedrooms, a large meeting room with pool table, and a sports bar in the basement. Your hosts, the Bogacki family, opened the house to guests after realizing the need for overnight lodging in this area.
The Tennessee Valley Authority under Franklin Roosevelt Administration affected Alabama in many wonderful ways. Not only did he bring jobs and provide roads and travel access but it allowed the Valley to develop its resources. Control of the Tennessee River created many lakes and recreational areas in Alabama and many other states. |
